Wingate MBA Team wins 2010
MBA case competition at Wake Forest University
A team of Wingate University
MBA students won the Case Competition at the inaugural Wake Forest University Schools of
Business Healthcare Conference held on the Wake
Forest campus in Winston-Salem. The conference included keynote speaker
Senator Richard Burr along with subsequent health care related
presentations and sessions, culminating with the MBA case competition.
The case was based on an
actual start-up biomaterials firm and the pending initial launch of its
various product lines, with the founders and senior management of the
company serving as judges for the competition. Congratulations to the
winning team! The winning team included the
following current MBA students from the Charlotte area: Kevin Davis,
Loudoun Emswiler, Ashley Meadows and Dawn Herndon.
“We are pleased with the impressive performance of our
team of MBA students,” said Wingate University MBA Director Mark Bryant.
“Their diligence and ultimate success in the case competition
demonstrates the quality and commitment exemplified by our students.”
Wingate University’s MBA program is taught at the Matthews Campus in
Downtown Matthews. The program offers five areas of concentration:
finance, marketing, corporate innovation, healthcare management and
general management.
Wingate Announces Master of
Accounting Program
March 29, 2010
The Wingate University School of Business is planning to offer a Master
of Accounting degree on its main campus for current students interested
in becoming licensed certified public accountants. Wingate will be one
of the few small private universities in the nation to offer such a
program.
The fifth-year master's degree is designed so accounting
majors can complete the degree in one year and students with no
accounting background can complete the degree in two years. Joseph M.
Graham, dean of the Wingate University School of Business, said
employment prospects are good for those holding the master's degree.
"The job outlook for accountants remains strong with the CPA remaining
the premier credential in this field."
